LibreOffice - is a productivity suite that is compatible with other major office suites, and available on a variety of platforms. It is free software and therefore free to download, use and distribute.
OpenOffice.org - is both an Open Source product and a project. The product is a multi-platform office productivity suite. It includes the key desktop applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager, and drawing program, with a user interface and feature set similar to other office suites.
StarOffice - is the world's leading office productivity suite on Linux and the Solaris OS. StarOffice software is affordable, easy to use, and based on open standards. It offers word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing and database capabilities. New version adds functionality to enable export to PDF, and to the Macromedia Flash format.
GNOME Office - "The AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet, and Gnome-DB data access components allow you to get it done now".
Calligra Suite - is a continuation of the KOffice project. The new name reflects the wider value of the KOffice technology platform beyond just desktop office applications.
KOffice - is an integrated office suite designed for KDE, the K Desktop Environment.
Siag Office - is a Free Office Package for Unix. Siag Office is a tightly integrated, free office package. It consists of the spreadsheet Siag, the word processor PW, the animation program Egon, the text editor XedPlus, the file manager Xfiler and the previewer Gvu.

AbiWord - is a free word processing program similar to Microsoft Word. It is suitable for typing papers, letters, reports, memos, and so forth.
Antiword - is a free MS Word reader for Linux and RISC OS. Antiword converts the binary files from Word 2, 6, 7, 97, 2000 and 2002 to plain text and to PostScript.
LyX - is an advanced open source document processor running on many Unix platforms (including MacOS X), OS/2, and under Windows/Cygwin.
Maxwell - aims to provide a basic set of wordprocessing features - something on a par with Microsoft Word (TM) v2.0 for windows.
Gnumeric - The Gnumeric spreadsheet is part of the GNOME desktop environment: a project to create a free, user friendly desktop environment. As every other component of GNOME, Gnumeric is free software and it is licensed under the terms of the GNU GPL.
GNU Oleo - is a light-weight spreadsheet that'll work in almost any environment. Oleo features a curses based interface (character mode), but also a LessTif (Motif) based graphical user interface.
MagicPoint - is an X11 based presentation tool.
HylaFax - is used for sending and receiving facsimiles as well as for sending alpha-numeric pages.
efax - is a small ANSI C/POSIX program that sends and receives faxes using any fax modem (Class 1, 2 or 2.0). EFAX is a nice simple program for single user systems.
Efax-gtk - is a GUI front end for the efax fax program. It can be used to send and receive faxes, and to view, print and manage faxes received.
Mgetty+Sendfax - is a reliable and proven fax send and receive solution for unix and linux. But it can do much more... so read the docs and be surprised.
OpenGroupware.org - is an open source groupware server to integrate with the leading open source office suite products and all the leading groupware clients running across all major platforms, and to provide access to all functionality and data through open XML-based interfaces and APIs.
SOGo - is groupware server with a focus on scalability and open standards. SOGo provides a rich AJAX-based Web interface and supports multiple native clients through the use of standard protocols such as CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV.
Simple Groupware & CMS - is an open source enterprise groupware that offers email, calendaring, contacts, tasks, document management, project management, synchronization with Outlook and cell phones, full-text search and many more. Simple Groupware is s free web based groupware solution written in PHP that combines standards like RSS, iCalendar, vCard, IMAP, POP3, SMTP, CIFS, CSV, WebDAV, LDAP and SyncML under one platform.
Horde Groupware - is a free, enterprise ready, browser based collaboration suite. Users can manage and share calendars, contacts, tasks and notes with the standards compliant components from the Horde Project. Horde Groupware bundles the separately available applications Kronolith, Turba, Nag and Mnemo. It can be extended with any of the released Horde applications or the Horde modules that are still in development, like a file manager, a bookmark manager, a forum or a wiki.
SKYRiX Groupware - is the enterprise distribution of the OpenGroupware.org software. SKYRiX is a maintained selection of stable parts of the OGo sources. The SKYRiX distribution also includes some additional software which is not available as part of the OpenGroupware.org project.
PHProjekt - is a modular application for the coordination of group activities and to share informations and document via the web. Components of PHProjekt: Group calendar, project management, time card system, file management, contact manager, mail client and many other modules. PHProjekt is free software.
Open-Xchange - allows you to store contacts, emails, tasks, appointments, bookmarks, documents and many more elements and share them with others. This environment can be accessed via any modern web browser and multiple fat clients like KDE Kontact, Ximian Evolution (announced), Konqueror, Mozilla Calendar and many more.
exchange4linux - is a production/stable server solution to store/exchange workgroup data on Linux in a style simular to Exchange. Main goal is to provide Outlook users a free and open server alternative on Linux.
Zarafa - is a software package that allows you to share e-mail and calendars via Outlook, on your PDA or through the Webaccess. And with Zarafa's offline features, you can even work while out of the office. The Zarafa Webaccess features the familiar Outlook 'Look & Feel' interface, and you can keep using the features in Outlook that have always allowed you to work efficiently. Many system administrators view Zarafa as an alternative for Exchange.

Tine 2.0 - is an open source project, which combines groupware, CRM and ERP into one system and is therefore useful for the the whole company, from field staff to back office members.

Evolution - provides integrated mail, addressbook and calendaring functionality to users of the GNOME desktop.
DAViCal CalDAV Server - (formerly called the "Really Simple CalDAV Store", or "RSCDS") is a server implementation of the CalDAV protocol for storing calendaring resources (iCalendar format) on a remote shared server. An increasing number of calendar clients support the maintenance of shared remote calendars through CalDAV including Mozilla Calendar (Sunbird/Lightning), Evolution, Mulberry, Chandler, and soon Apple's iCal. DAViCal supports basic delegation of read/write access among calendar users and multiple users or clients reading and writing the same calendar entries over time.
WebCalendar - is a web-based calendaring and scheduling system for managing personal, group and corporate events over the internet. WebCalendar is a CGI application written in Perl.
KOrganizer - is the calendar and scheduling component of Kontact, the integrated personal information manager of KDE. KOrganizer provides management of events and tasks, alarm notification, web export, network transparent handling of data, group scheduling, import and export of calendar files and more. It is able to work together with a wide variety of groupware servers, for example Kolab, Open-Xchange, Citadel or OpenGroupware.org.
Mozilla Calendar - is a cross-platform fully standards based calendar client based on the open iCal standard. It is built using the XUL user interface language and is targeted at Mozilla based browsers, including the Netscape 7.x series of browsers, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird and the Mozilla Application Suite.
Mozilla Sunbird - is a redesign of the Mozilla Calendar component. The Sunbird Project's goal is to produce a cross platform standalone calendar application based on Mozilla's XUL user interface language. At the moment the "Sunbird" name is a project name. It is not official and may change in the future.
