DVDRTOOLS - DVDRECORD - is a fork of cdrtools, with the primary goal of supporting writable DVD drives. dvdrtools is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) v2.
DVD+RW/+R/-RW for Linux - The scope of this page is primarily computer storage applications. The downloadable files are an optional Linux 2.4 kernel DVD+RW patch and a couple of user-land utilities dubbed as dvd+rw-tools.
bzip2 - bzip2 is a freely available, patent free, high-quality data compressor. It typically compresses files to within 10% to 15% of the best available techniques (the PPM family of statistical compressors), whilst being around twice as fast at compression and six times faster at decompression.
gzip - gzip (GNU zip) is a compression utility designed to be a replacement for compress. Its main advantages over compress are much better compression and freedom from patented algorithms.
dar - (Disk ARchive) is a command-line backup tool, that uses compression, makes differential or full backups, which can be split over several files or disks.
UnAce for Linux - Winace.com released a version of UnAce for Linux.
unRAR / RAR for Linux - is a freeware program to extract, test, and view RAR archives.
LHa for UNIX - is a console-based utility that uncompresses and compresses .lha packages.
GNU cpio - is a program to manage archives of files. This package also includes mt, a tape drive control program. Cpio copies files into or out of a cpio or tar archive.
afio - makes cpio-format archives. It deals somewhat gracefully with input data corruption, supports multi-volume archives during interactive operation, and can make compressed archives that are much safer than compressed tar or cpio archives. Afio is best used as an "archive engine" in a backup script.
rsync - is a file transfer program for Unix systems. rsync uses the "rsync algorithm" which provides a very fast method for bringing remote files into sync. It does this by sending just the differences in the files across the link, without requiring that both sets of files are present at one of the ends of the link beforehand.
Storix Backup Administrator - (SBA) is a graphical interface for administration of various types of backups of AIX and Linux systems. SBA was designed not only to backup data files to a network server, but to also provide the ability to reinstall a complete system from scratch while providing the flexibility needed to restore the backup onto a different hardware environment.
Bacula - is a set of computer programs to manage backup, recovery, and verification of computer data across a network of computers of different kinds.

Device Image - is an easy to use software solution to perform a system disaster recovery or fast backup- restore operations of whole disk device or its partition without a deep knowledge of software functionality.
