It also leaves a copy of the installed package in the source directory so you can install it wherever you want, without having to recompile.

[Sinstall] - is a flexible source package installer. It's able to build and install any kind of source, trace make install installations, and create uninstall records. It's also able to correct some configure and make errors, optimize the compilation, check existing installations, download packages, guess configure parameters and Makefile's targets, find dependencies, and create distribution packages.

Package dependencies are automatically handled, so if you need to install a package which requires other packages to be installed, poldek downloads and installs all the required packages by itself.

[APT4rpm] - At these pages an attempt is made to introduce the Advanced Package Tool (APT), originally developed for the Debian Linux distribution, to users of rpm based Linux systems.

[yum] - is an automatic updater and package installer/ remover for rpm systems. It automatically computes dependencies and figures out what things should occur to install packages.

[Emerde] - is the port of Gentoo's portage system that installs, removes, updates, mantains your system rapidly and easily. Furthermore on Slackware distribution it cooperates with the Slackware's db and allows to install .tgz files directly, using dependeces checking.

[Alien] - is a program that allows you to convert LSB, Red Hat, Stampede, Slackware and Debian packages to any of the other formats. This is a tool only suitable for binary packages.
